Boho Style Backpack Handwoven by the Quechua People Fair Trade Import
Boho style backpack in vibrant colors of yellow, orange red, green, bright blue and fuchsia. Handwoven by the Quechua of the Andes Mountains. To achieve these beautiful colors the thread is dyed by hand using natural fibers of wood, leaves or flowers. The textile is first woven into a manta (blanket), this takes approximately 45 days to complete the weaving. Then it is used to make several different items. The basket weave textile has a geometric diamond symbolizing 'lake'. This symbol represents the importance of water for life and subsistence. The straps are a blend of alpaca and cotton.
